The Lincs Taxi sponsored Grimsby Ice Bears were formed early in 2012 and play out of the Grimsby Leisure Centre. GIB play both contact and non contact hockey to allow more game time and different opponents. The Ice Bears started competitive hockey in May 2012 and have played various teams who posses different levels of hockey.

2014-2015 was a hugely successful season for us, winning the playoffs of the Northern Rec Hockey Cup with a scoreline of 7-4 against reigning champions Sheffield Ice Tigers. We look forward to defending the cup this season.

2013-2014 saw us dumped out of the Northern Rec Cup by Deeside Demons in the semi finals. As our first Summer Cup run the team did Grimsby proud with a series of fantastic performances but unfortunately it wasn’t enough.

The end of the 2012-2013 season fixture list finished with a record of 13-5-1. We also competed in our first two tournaments. The first being Swindon RecFest, where we finished 2nd in the plate. We are also proud champions of Beer League UK’s first ever Stanley Keg tournament after being unbeaten all weekend, winning the final game in a dramatic penalty shootout.
